Eduardo Raya é fotógrafo brasileiro, nascido no interior de São Paulo.
Pegou uma câmera pela primeira vez mais tarde do que se costuma, em uma viagem, ainda com olhar de quem estava de passagem. Foi morando um período em Nova York, alguns anos depois, que a rua passou a lhe interessar como linguagem: a luz dura, a multidão, os pequenos acasos que só uma grande cidade oferece. Ao voltar para São Paulo, encontrou ali o mesmo vocabulário, em outro idioma.
Fotografa em preto e branco. Interessa-se pela geometria que as cidades desenham sem querer e pelas pessoas que atravessam o quadro quase sem serem notadas.
Enxerga a fotografia como arte e registro - feita para olhar o presente e ser lida no futuro.

Eduardo Raya is a Brazilian photographer, born in the countryside of São Paulo.
He picked up a camera for the first time later than most, on a trip, still looking with the eyes of someone just passing through. It was while living in New York, years later, that the street became a language to him its harsh light, its crowds, the small coincidences only a great city offers. Upon returning to São Paulo, he found the same vocabulary there, spoken in another tongue.
He photographs in black and white, drawn to the geometry cities draw without meaning to, and to the people who cross the frame almost unnoticed.
He sees photography as both art and record - made to see the present and to be read in the future.
